The Kew Mae Pan ridge above a valley filled with cloud

Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail

2.78 km of cloud forest, grassland and ridge at about 2,200 metres.

Kew Mae Pan is a 2.78 km nature trail in Doi Inthanon National Park, at around 2,200 metres, with some of the widest panoramic views in Thailand.

The trail passes through three distinct landscapes in a short distance: mossy cloud forest, open golden grassland and scenic mountain ridges. On a good morning the valleys below fill with a sea of clouds.

It is walked with local hill tribe guides. Allow about two hours, and expect stairs and uphill sections.

The national park closes the trail from June to October for the rainy season. We run it from November to March as part of our two-day trip from Pa Pong Piang.
